Frame

Numbered 36443 to 42995 (approx). Bolt on seat stays with drawback type chainstays for rear wheel adjustment.

Wheels

WM1x19 (f), WM1x19 (r), with identical hubs (from 350cc) and black rims.Black spokes with NPB nipples. Rear with bolt on sprocket.

Mudguards

Plain 5” D section, unvalanced front and rear. Rear with detachable tail section.

Tanks

Petrol/oil tank finished in black and gold. Twin external screw fillers (oil & petrol) with front fitted petrol balance pipe. Single bolt damper fixing but no damper fitted. Brass lever petrol tap. Oval 'Rudge-Whitworth' rubber gnee grips.

Engine

2 valve twin port overhead (coded POY/W) or single port side valve (coded B/W) J.A.P. with rear mounted ML Maglita or ML magneto type NAK. External Best and Lloyd oil pump.

Brakes

Both 6 3/4”, coupled with steel shoes.

Electrics (optional)

Miller 7” headlamp (bayonet fitting rim) with No 74E 6-0-6 'Lighthouse' ammeter and 34E rear lamp (where fitted).

Transmission

4 speed Rudge gearbox with hand change on RHS of tank. 'Rudge Whitworth' cast into quadrant cover. Pressed steel primary cover.

Carburetter

Amal 4/022 stub fitting with 2 lever control for OHV and 4/012 with 2 lever control for SV.

Exhaust system

Twin 1 3/4” or single 1 1/2” low level pipes into Rudge ‘can’ type silencer(s) and 6” fishtail(s).

Standard Fittings

Non adjustable 1” handlebars with folded type inverted levers. Single toolbox mounted opposite battery carrier on nearside of machine. Riveted angle & strip steel centre stand. Open ended ‘D’ section forks.

Extras

Chromium plated tank with black or maroon panels. Nickel plated tank with black or maroon top and side panels. Maroon panelled tank and mudguards. Smiths trip/non trip internal drive speedometer. Time speed meter. Twist grip. SV engine available in 300cc at no extra cost. Rear carrier at no extra cost.
